Warren Park Real Estate Information

A small community about seven miles east of the capital city, Warren Park, Indianapolis, lies inside the loop that is Interstate 465 surrounding the city. It is a part of Warren Township, in Marion County, and is what is called an included town of Indianapolis, since it took part in the consolidation in 1970, when several towns in Marion County incorporated and merged with the Indianapolis local government. Warren Park does, however, retain some of its own town government.

The community was estimated in 2007 to be home to a population of almost 1,700. It makes up an area of just 0.4 square mile, and its residents have an estimated annual median household income of just over $25,000. Construction, health care and public administration are the industries in which the most number of people here are employed.

The city’s close proximity to the capital put residents in easy distance of all the amenities of a big city without all the headache of living downtown. Warren Park is just east of the nearest hospital, Community Hospital east, just six miles from the nearest Amtrak station, and about 20 miles from the city’s international airport. Indianapolis is home to more than a dozen colleges and universities, including community colleges, four-year institutions and graduate-degree programs, offering something for everyone when it comes to selecting a post-secondary institution.

Warren Park is home to the Naval Avionics Center and to Pleasant Run Golf Course. Other attractions nearby include the many sites to see in and around downtown Indianapolis, from the country’s largest children’s museum to the home of the NCAA, to professional football and basketball teams to arts and cultural destinations, like theaters, performances, concerts and art museums and galleries. Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home to the world-famous Indy 500, is just southwest of here, and the Indiana State Fair is held in Indianapolis every summer for two weeks.
